The Prem Rawat Foundation — 2008 Annual Report

2006 Annual Report

The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF), created in 2001, works to fulfill a dual purpose: bringing Prem Rawat’s message of peace to people around the world and providing essential humanitarian aid to those who need it most.

Message of Peace
For most of his life, Prem Rawat has been bringing a message of peace and hope to people everywhere, from simple villages to large metropolitan areas, from prisons to opera houses, from small gatherings to large arenas. His message has reached millions more through video, television broadcasts, and the Internet. TPRF helps to make Prem Rawat’s message of peace widely available by sponsoring some of his addresses and producing webcasts, DVDs, and a variety of print materials, responding to requests from around the world.

Humanitarian Aid
Based on Prem Rawat’s vision, TPRF has developed a model program called Food for People that serves nutritious daily meals year-round at clean, modern, permanent facilities in Bantoli, India, and in Dhading District, Nepal. Focusing on providing the essential aid of food, water, eye care, and disaster relief, the Foundation partners with reputable nonprofit organizations to ensure that TPRF funds reach the intended recipients directly and rapidly.

The efforts of TPRF are funded by the generosity of individuals from over 50 countries who appreciate the Foundation’s aim to help bring dignity, peace, and prosperity to people around the world.

Supporting the Foundation’s Initiatives
Around the world, volunteer and donor activity is growing, as Prem Rawat’s message of peace and TPRF’s humanitarian aid efforts guide more people toward a brighter future.

With the leadership of the board of directors, the Foundation has been able to maintain very low administrative costs so that most of the donations can be applied directly to the projects and people who are the intended beneficiaries.

More people are volunteering their professional expertise, time, and talent to further TPRF’s purpose than ever before. Individuals enthusiastic about the work of TPRF have found many imaginative ways to use their interests and expertise to raise money, which they then donate to support the Foundation’s initiatives. This year these projects have ranged from fundraising dinners and golf tournaments to auctions, sari sales, music concerts, and more. All together they have raised over $150,000 for the Foundation in 2008.

These volunteer activities are greatly appreciated, as they help TPRF to continue its efforts to promote dignity, peace, and prosperity.

The Prem Rawat Foundation was created in 2001 and is a California not-for-profit public benefit corporation with a tax exempt 501(c)(3) status granted by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. The accompanying Statements of Activities and Change in Net Assets were prepared using generally accepted accounting principles. Tax returns may be viewed online at: www.guidestar.org.
